NSCC Singapore strives for products and services with the highest levels of security and reliability.
April was a bustling month at our Data Centre located at National University of Singapore (NUS) Innovation 4.0 building, as we welcomed a diverse group of visitors eager to learn more about Singapore’s HPC infrastructure and experience our innovative data centre cooling solutions designed for the tropics.
On the morning of 24 April 2025, we hosted the Singapore Computer Society – the leading infocomm and digital media society for industry professionals, leaders, students, and tech enthusiasts. Members from their Data Centre (DC) Chapter explored our facilities to understand how NSCC Singapore manages its award-winning tropical data centre, and engaged in discussions on the evolving HPC landscape and its growing impact across industries.
On the same afternoon, we welcomed PCS Security, a Singapore-based systems integrator specializing in secure, reliable, and state-of-the-art security solutions. During their visit, we shared insights into our data centre operations, cybersecurity measures, and the importance of securing HPC environments in today’s digital age.
On 25 April 2025, we hosted close to 40 students from NUS School of Computing’s CS3210 Parallel Computing course, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at how large-scale computational systems support research and innovation in areas like AI, data analytics, and scientific discovery. The session was a great opportunity to ignite interest in real-world HPC applications and explore potential career pathways in the field.
Before the data centre tour, NSCC Singapore’s Chief Executive, Dr. Terence Hung, delivered a welcome address, highlighting NSCC Singapore’s pivotal role as a national research infrastructure that drives research and innovation across various fields. Students also gained valuable insights into career paths in HPC. One of the interns with NSCC Singapore shared their personal experience and ongoing projects, offering students a real-world perspective on life as an intern at NSCC Singapore. The tour wrapped up with an engaging Q&A session, where students inquired about the data centre’s cooling technologies and the operational processes that ensure Singapore’s supercomputers run efficiently.
